Unlike traditional instructor programs that conclude after a single classroom session, the CAT Instructor Development Program provides continued mentorship beyond DEMA. Live virtual sessions reinforce instructional techniques, review real-world teaching scenarios, answer questions that arise after candidates begin preparing to teach, and ensure each instructor is fully prepared before independently conducting a CAT certification course.

Instructor Authorization

Successful completion of the required pre-course self-study, interactive eLearning, in-person Instructor Development Workshop, post-DEMA virtual development sessions, and instructor performance evaluations qualifies candidates for authorization as Cylindex Cylinder Assessment Technician (CAT) Instructors.

Authorized instructors will be prepared to deliver the CAT certification program in accordance with Cylindex standards, ensuring a consistent, professional, and high-quality learning experience for every student.

Program Prerequisites

• Must hold a current Cylinder Assessment Technician Certification or equivalent from a reputable agency (SDI/TDI, PSI-PCI, etc.) to book the C.A.T. Instructor Development Program OR must hold a current Visual Inspector Instructor rating from a reputable agency (SDI/TDI, PSI-PCI, etc.) to book the C.A.T. Instructor Crossover Program.
• Must have completed a minimum of 100 visual inspections of high-pressure cylinders. 
• Upon booking this program, Cylindex will contact the candidate to confirm all prerequisites have been met. 

Additional Requirements and Costs

• Instruction Tool Kit (Required): All Instructor candidates are required to have access to the official Instruction Tool Kit prior to or during the course. The kit is available for $850 and is an essential component for conducting C.A.T. training, demonstrations, and future instructional delivery.
