Cylinder Assessment Technician
The Cylindex Cylinder Assessment Technician (CAT) course is a comprehensive cylinder safety and inspection program designed for dive professionals, public safety personnel, military, fire suppression, industrial gas operations, fill-station operators, and anyone responsible for compressed-gas cylinder safety.
CAT goes beyond basic visual inspection. Students learn how to properly assess cylinders, identify potentially unsafe conditions, interpret DOT, CTC and UN/ISO cylinder markings, understand Special Permits and requalification requirements, and apply current industry inspection standards and best practices.
The program also includes Oxygen Service Training, Valve Service, and Fill Station Operations, giving technicians a broader understanding of the entire cylinder-handling process.
Cylindex uses a modern blended-learning format. Students complete the knowledge-development portion through eLearning before attending class, allowing valuable classroom time to focus on hands-on inspection, tools, techniques, actual cylinders, and real-world situations.
Upon successful completion, students earn the Cylindex CAT - Cylinder Assessment Technician certification.
